The right steps for your dashboard
Classic radio
Use the radio presets for the quickest method. If your unit only responds to the steering-column control, use the alternative below.
Switch on the ignition and radio. Wait for CODE and then 0000.
Press preset 1 repeatedly for digit one, 2 for digit two, 3 for digit three and 4 for digit four.
Press and hold 6 until you hear a beep. Some models use 5.
Turn the thumbwheel or use +/− to choose each digit. Briefly press the lower button to move to the next position. After digit four, press and hold that button until the radio beeps.
Media Nav / touchscreen
Newer multimedia systems use a simple keypad. The security screen normally appears after power has been disconnected.
Switch on the ignition and multimedia system. Wait for the four empty spaces and number keypad.
Tap the numbers shown in your radio code, in the same order.
Check the digits, then tap OK. If the PIN is rejected, wait for the lock timer before trying again.
No compatible precode? Some newer systems need the code from your vehicle handbook, the Vehicle Details section in My Renault, or an approved dealer.
Before you start
Look for one letter followed by three digits, such as A123. It may appear after “PRECODE” or “SECURITY”.
On many classic radios, hold 1 + 6 while switching the unit on. If that does not work, try 1 + 5.
The precode is often printed after “Security” on a label on the side or rear of the original head unit. Remove a radio only if you know how to do so safely.
Your four-digit radio code may already be recorded inside the vehicle handbook or in My Renault under Vehicle Details. See Renault’s official radio-code help.
Useful answers
This calculator accepts a letter followed by three numbers. Precodes beginning with A0 are not supported. Some newer systems use a different process; check My Renault, your handbook, or an approved dealer.
Leave the radio switched on and wait until it allows another attempt. Repeated wrong entries can make the waiting time longer. Do not keep guessing.
